Naskah Drama Bahasa Inggris: The Hidden One

Assalamualaikum! Holaaa. Hari ini, aku membawa sebuah naskah drama bahasa inggris, judulnya The Hidden One, tentang seorang pemburu tampan yang dikutuk menjadi tidak terlihat.  Kutukannya akan hilang jika ia menikah dengan seorang perempuan yang berhati tulus. Yak, inilah naskahnya:

Preview: The invisible hunter in the village is sought as husband by every village maiden—but will Little Scarface even dare to try?

Once upon a time, in a village near the river in Canada, lived a handsome young man. He lived as a hunter who roamed. He was always admired by everyone, including a witch who lived alone in the forest because she was isolated from his village.

One day, the hunter went to the forest and brought an arrow. He would hunt a bear, but the witch came and surprised the hunter, it made the bear ran away. He starred weird to the witch in front of him.

Hidden One: “Who are you? What are you doing in here?”

Witch: “I want to accompany you.”

Hidden One: “What do you mean? Why do you want to accompany me?”

Witch: “Because I admired you for a long time.”

Hidden One: “What?! How it is possible! I refuse a beautiful woman, how about you?!”

Witch: “B, but, I really like you.”

Hidden One: “You are ugly, big nose, and freak!”

Witch: “So, do you mean I am...”

Because she was disappointed by the hunter's word, so the witch swung her wand and cursed the hunter to be invisible.

Witch: “Wadadaw digridaw! From now on, your body will be invisible. No one can see you except your family. But, if there is a girl who has an honest heart, she can see you. Take that! Hahahaha!”

But the hidden one didn’t believe it, so he walked out of the forest to test anyone that he met. On the way to the village, he saw his old friend who sold peanut, sunflower seeds, and candy. Then he came to his old friend.

Old Friend: “Peanut, sunflower seeds, candy! Peanut, sunflower seeds, candy!”

Hidden One: “Hello, old friend!”

But the old friend didn't notice the hidden one. She kept sold her stuffs, but in her heart she felt something strange, because she heard a familiar sound.

Old Friend: “Oh God, what sound is that? There is a ghost in here…”

Hidden one: “Hey, why are you scare of me? I am not a ghost, I’m your friend!”

Old Friend: “This must be a ghost! Please, don’t bother me! Just go away!”

(Hidden One waves his hand in front of Old Friend’s face. Then, because trembling, Old Friend dropped her stuffs)

Hidden One: “Here you go (pick up the stuffs).”

Old Friend: “The stuffs are flying! This is insane!”

(Old Friend ran away)

Hidden One: “Well, if you don’t want these, I’ll take these, hehe. Free stuffs!”

After that time, the rumor of the hunter who became invisible was spread to the entire village. The hunter’s sister, Patient One, confirms this. And then the hunter was known as the Hidden One. Hidden One said that he would marry a girl who can see him. So, many hopeful young women came to Hidden One’s house. The Patient One will test them. And no one had succeeded.

In the same village lived two sisters who had lost their mother. The younger sister had a good heart, but the older one was jealous and cruel.

Father:  “I will go to work now. Please take care of your younger sister.”

Sister: “Okay, father (smiling).”

(Father is going out of the house)

(Little Scarface swept the house. While Sister was wearing face’s powder, accidentally Little Scarface nudged her, so the powder fell. Sister was very angry)

Sister: “Come here!”

Little Scarface: “Yes, sister.”

Sister: “Look what you did! You dropped my precious face’s powder!”

Little Scarface: “Sorry, I didn’t mean it…”

Sister: “Just sorry?! You think said sorry are enough to return my face’s powder? You always bring bad luck!”

(The sister scratched the Little Scarface cheek with the scissor on the table in front of her. Little Scarface bowed and cried)

Sister: “Don’t cry, stupid whiny! You deserve it. Don’t you dare tell our father, or next time will be worse!”

In the afternoon, Father came home.

Father: “Assalamualaikum.”

Sister: “Waalaikumsalam. Welcome home, father!”

(Father smiled. Then, he saw a scar on Little Scarface’s face)

Father: “What happened to you? Why were you hurt?”

Little Scarface: “I played with scissor and accidentally hurt myself.”

Father: “You are so clumsy. Look at your face! The scar makes you look ugly.”

(Dad shook his head and Sister smiled slyly)

After a while she had so many scars, she was called Little Scarface. Of course, the Sister made up all different reasons to tell their father. And he would shake his head in sorrow and disappointment.

Feeling not strong, Little Scarface decided to visit and tell her story to her best friend. Along the way, she always looked down because she got taunts from the villagers.

Man 1: “Look at her face!”

Woman 1: “Ew, disgusting. I’ve never seen such an ugly face before!”

Man 2: “Why does she have so many scars on her face? She looks like a beast!”

Woman 2: “She deserves to be called Little Scarface!”

They all laughed mockingly.

Arriving at her best friend's house, her best friend was surprised to see her face.

Best Friend: “What happened to you??”

(Little Scarface was crying and hugging her best friend)

Best Friend: “Hey… calm down. What are really happened?”

Shortly, Little Scarface tells what happened to her. How she was always tortured by her sister so she got a lot of cuts on her face.

Best Friend: “She's really cruel. You have to be patient. Why didn’t you tell your father about the truth?”

Little Scarface: “I’m not brave. Sister said that she will do worse to me if I tell my father about the truth.”

Best Friend: “Oh God, she must get her punishment someday.”

One day, the Sister put on her finest clothes.

Sister: “Do you know what I’m doing? I’m going to marry the Hidden One. Of course, that’s something you could never dream of.”

Sister walked arrogantly past Little Scarface, who was silent. Outside, Sister meets Little Scarface's best friend. They just stared at each other, without caring about each other. Best Friend who wanted to meet Little Scarface immediately entered Little Scarface's house.

Best Friend: “Why are your sister leaving?”

Little Scarface: “I don’t know. She said she went to marry Hidden One.”

Best Friend: “WHATT?!”

Little Scarface: “Yes, why? Who is Hidden One?”

Best Friend: “OMG hello??? You don’t know him?!! What cave where you had been hiding? Hidden One is a very handsome hunter.”

Little Scarface: “How do you know? Even his name is “Hidden”. Is he always hiding?”

Best Friend: “No, no, my dear. His handsome is well known in this world. You just do not know.”

Little Scarface: “But why is he called 'Hidden'?”

Best Friend: “He was cursed by a witch. People said he was cursed for his arrogant nature and he rejected the witch's love.”

Little Scarface: “How would people want to marry him if he was invisible?”

Best Friend: “Therefore, people who can see Hidden One will marry him. Hold on, I know! What if you also come to Hidden One? Who knows you can see him and marry him!”

Little Scarface: “What?? No! You are crazy. I cannot possibly do that.”

Best Friend: “But who knows you're lucky. Many women have done it but never succeeded. Who knows by marrying her, you can be far from your sister and will not be tortured again by her.”

Little Scarface was silent at the thought of her best friend.

Little Scarface: “You're right. Okay, I'll try it.”

            At the same time, when the older Sister reached the wigwam at the edge of the village, she was greeted by the Sister of the hunter. The Patient One told her,

Patient One: “You are welcome. My brother will return soon from the hunt. Come help me prepare the dinner.”

The two of them worked awhile, till the night came. Then the Patient One led Sister to the front house.

Patient One: (pointing past the Sister) “My brother comes. Do you see him?”

The young woman saw no one, but she had decided to pretend.

Sister: “Of course. (pointing at the wrong direction) There he is now!”

Patient One: “And what is the color of his shirt?”

Sister: “Red!”

(The Patient One frowned)

Patient One: “Let us return to the wigwam.”

They had just finished making the meal when a deep voice said,

Hidden One: “Greetings, my Sister.”

(Sister jumped in surprise)

Patient One: “Greetings, my brother.”

Sister: (cheerily) “When will our wedding take place?”

Patient One: (turning on her angrily) “What wedding? Do you think my brother would marry a liar and a fool?”

Sister: “It’s not a lie! I truly see him! It’s him! Please let me be your brother’s bride!”

Patient One: “Go away or my brother will shoot you with his arrow.”

The young woman ran crying from the wigwam. All the next morning she was weeping and sobbing.

(Little Scarface came to her)

Little Scarface: (softly) “Sister, It is my turn to visit the Hidden One.”

Sister: (screaming) “How dare you!”

(The Sister jumped up and slapped Little Scarface, knocking her to the floor)

Sister: “Are you so stupid to think you can do what I couldn’t? Even if you saw him, do you think he’d marry a pathetic thing like you?”

She sank back to the bed in tears.

Little Scarface: (still softly) “It is my turn to visit the Hidden One.”

(Her Sister stopped crying and stared in amazement)

            Little Scarface went out to the Hidden One’s house.

            Man 1: (pointing) “Look at Little Scarface!”

Man 1: “She’s dressed like a tree!”

Man 2: “Hey, Little Scarface!”

Man 2: “Your face is still terrible!”  

Woman 1: “I don’t believe it!”

Woman 1: “She’s on her way to the Hidden One!”

Woman 2: “Oh, Little Scarface…”

Woman 2: “Did you burn yourself and cut off your hair to look pretty for him?”

Ignoring their taunts and laughter, Little Scarface walked on till she reached the wigwam at the village edge. The Patient One regarded the young woman with surprise but told her,

Patient One: “You are welcome.”

Little Scarface helped prepare the evening meal. When the night came, the Patient One led her to the front of the house. She told her,

Patient One: (pointing) “My brother comes. Do you see him?”

Little Scarface gazed along the shore.

Little Scarface: “Mmm… I think it’s him.”

The Patient One looked at her curiously.

Patient One: “What is the color of his shirt?”

Little Scarface: “Black.”

Patient One: “And his shoes?”

Little Scarface: “Also black.”

(The Patient One smiled)

Patient One: “Let us return.”

When they reached the wigwam, the Patient One took rag and washed Little Scarface’s face with water from a special jar.

The young woman’s scars disappeared, leaving her skin shining and smooth.

Hidden One: “Greetings, my Sister.”

Patient One: (smiling) “Greetings, my brother. You are discovered!”

(The Hidden One walked over to Little Scarface and waves his hand in front of Little Scarface)

Hidden One: “Did you really can see me??”

            (Little Scarface holds Hidden One’s hands)

            Little Scarface: “Yes. I can see you.”

Hidden One: (smiling) “I have waited to find a woman of pure heart and brave spirit. Only such a one could see me. And now you shall be my bride.”

Little Scarface: “Thanks, because you accept me as your bride.”

(Patient One separated Hidden One and Little Scarface)

Patient One: “Hey, hey! I’m jealous you know? I’m still single. How many times do I have to wait until my dream prince come and proposing me?”

(Patient One is sad. Little Scarface and Hidden One comfort her)

So Little Scarface and Hidden One were married. And from then on, Little Scarface had a new name, the Lovely One. For she too had been hidden, and now was hidden no more.
